Frequently asked questions
Usually between the ages of two and three, or when they've grown enough to climb out of the cot on their own (about 90 cm). The first bed should be low, with a low side guard rail (to prevent falling out in their sleep).
The top bunk only from age six. Younger children can use the lower bunk. If a child sleeps restlessly, avoid the top bunk.
On both sides, and sticking up at least 13 cm above the mattress. That is why a thinner mattress goes on a bunk bed, so the rail stays high enough.
Children's beds are most often 80×160 cm or 90×190/200 cm. It is better to get a bigger one than to replace it in two years. What matters is that the mattress fits exactly, with no gap at the sides.
