It depends on the space. Hinged doors are cheaper and you see the whole wardrobe at once, but they need room to open. Sliding doors save space in the room and look more modern, but they cover half the wardrobe and need a quality track.
At least 60 cm, so clothes on hangers hang straight. Anything less and they get crumpled. Sliding doors need a centimetre or so more because of the track.
